Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Annika Engineer as a Managing Director in the firm's New York office.

Annika is a corporate communications strategist with over 20 years of experience partnering with nonprofits and Fortune 500 companies to develop mission-driven initiatives that raise favorability with key audiences, build resilience ahead of potential challenges from crises and shifts in the market, and deliver measurable social impact.

She has led global, integrated corporate communications work for companies including GE, MetLife, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, the TATA Group, PepsiCo, Tupperware Brands, and Facebook with a focus on corporate storytelling, C-level executive visibility, DE&I, enterprise-level thought leadership, and signature reputation initiatives.

Annika is also experienced in reputation risk and crisis management and has worked on some of the most high-profile incidents in recent past where she helped lead recovery efforts following a large-scale data breach at a leading consumer credit reporting agency, drove opioid epidemic communications response strategy for a Fortune 5 company, supported several shareholder activist and say-on-pay issues and navigated a number of #MeToo related crises. She has also been deeply involved in helping clients design and navigate COVID-19, RTO, and social justice response strategies.

Annika has spent time working overseas in India, the U.K., Europe, the UAE and China, which has enabled her to execute strategy across varying cultural contexts. She is passionate about issues related to the empowerment of women and girls and speaks often about the collective power of female leadership and gender parity in the workplace. She has worked with organizations like Teach for India, Sakhi for South Asian Women and IWF, and served as the communications director for South Asian Women for Biden in 2020.
